Give me Freedom, or...

I interrupt the usual wait of weeks to mention an insight from my brother, the Postmodern Papist. Not only is the two-party system dangerous and the lack of choices a bother, liberty itself demands better.

"As it is the quality of choices and not the quantity of choices that defines our freedom, having to choose between not-very-good-one and not-very-good-two is an affront to our freedom."

The only reason I can ever find to vote for someone who might actually win an election is that they're better than Clinton. Unfortunately that's not saying much. It'd be nice to have a candidate who's values coincided with my own and could win - since that seems highly unlikely I guess I'm stuck voting for losers :-D.

If enough of us vote for a loser, they won't be losers any more. Or, at the very least, we might do some damage to the two-party stranglehold even if we can't defeat it altogether. We'll have to wait and see.
